I am doing really well...pleased that I am surrounded by healthy choices at home and at work so that there is always an alternative. Fat (butter, coconut) and protein go a long way to keeping me satisfied. If I start to feel like roving the pantry or cabinets, I generally reach for a piece of fruit. If cravings for (something!anything!) get too strong, then I've found protein and fat are what is needed.
I am still "Paleo Weight Watchering", so grains are absent from most of my eating except on Saturdays during my "cheat" time. Truth is, I don't feel the least bit guilty about my Saturday afternoons and evenings. Really, I just allow myself grains, cheese, wine, a dessert. I don't stuff myself full of processed foods, fast food, etc. but rather gourmet noshing is my Saturday habit. I consider it deserved, positive, and luxurious versus a negative cheat.
Did I mention that since early January I have been surrounded by my daughters' Girl Scout cookies? Hundreds of them. Cases of them stacked in our living room. They're almost gone, though, as just 60 remain. Last year my kids and I could down a box as a misguided after school snack. This year, they've eaten their share (with dad) and I've had...five or less in a month! I've said "no" many more times than I've said "yes"!
Another 2.2 lbs left my body last week! I am still without new scale batteries, but I'm confident that I'm making progress again this week. I met my 5% goal of 12 lbs, and my total weight loss in 5 weeks is 13 pounds. Only 97 pounds to go to be at goal! I'm going to get there.
